Extinction
We're not quite sure how it happened, see,
This prehistorical catastrophe.
Our best scientists are at a loss
As to what could have been the cause.
How did it happen, and why did they die?
How did they come to the end of their time?
All of our data shows Humans were smart,
So how did their species just fall apart?
The history's blurred, the records are hazy,
The artifacts are incomprehensibly crazy,
From sharp pointy things that look really dire,
To cylinder rods that bang when they fire.
Why did they make these, what were they for?
Were these tools the reason theyre not here anymore?
All of our research shows Humans were violent,
So is that the reason their voices are silent?
Well craters are common, they're everywhere,
Filled to the brim with skeletons past repair,
They look like they were blasted to pieces,
By weapons of great destructive releases.
Why are they like this, how were they wronged,
Why would they make something so terribly strong?
All of our proof shows Humans were advanced,
So why did they kill given half the chance?
Measuring ice cores, we think they imply,
That greenhouse emissions were horribly high.
Then Earth must have been disastrously warm,
While Humans continued to waste and deform.
Why did they do it, why didnt they care,
As Nature fought back and did what was fair?
All of our results shows Humans were wise,
So why did they orchestrate their own grand demise?
And maybe the truth we will never know,
Of how Humans disappeared ages ago,
But yesterday's mistakes are lessons of today,
Or else, like the Humans, well all fade away.
